Amena's Environment Policy

Here at Amena's, with our focus on natural Planet Derived products, we intend to leave as small a footprint with waste as possible.

We have recently stopped using bubble wrap, especially as councils are dumping recyclables in landfill and have instead moved to a honeycombed kraft paper and tissue paper wrap. For those who are interested, this product is called Geami and I source it from Signet here in Australia. You can drop your postage satchels into the REDcycle bin at your local supermarket, to find a drop off point please click here. (REDcycle has been suspended, we are trying to use if not recyclable satchels, at least those made of at least 80% recylcled materials)

Packaging: We do our best to use sustainable re-usable packaging for our products, however, there are some limitations. For instance, our Sea Mineral Liquids are bottled in PET/HDPE plastic. These have a recycle number of '2'. These are food safe and some of the safest plastics around, they can be recycled.

  • Plastic #2 is recycled into pens, recycling containers, picnic tables, lumber, benches, fencing, and detergent bottles, to name a few.

We do not use glass bottles as these are particularly heavy and easily breakable. Using glass would add tremendously to the cost of postage and result in a much higher cost to the consumer.

We are always looking for new information and products to help us stay as environmentally responsible as possible.

The Amena's Team.
